Deceased found in pool of blood
Summary
Paramedics testified that the 43‑year‑old deceased was found in a pool of blood with puncture wounds all over his body. They were giving evidence to the Central Criminal Court in the trial of three men charged with his death. Seán Flanagan (28) and Paul Colbert (46) of Lenihan Avenue, Prospect, Limerick City are charged with murdering Gerard McMahon on 18 January 2012 at a house on Lenihan Avenue. They have pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. Ian Flanagan (24) of the same address has pleaded not guilty to two counts of assisting an offender on the same date, accused of removing a CCTV recording device from the house, knowing it might form evidence. The jury has heard that Seán and Ian Flanagan are brothers and that Mr Colbert is their uncle.
