Summary
A jury of one woman and eleven men has begun deliberations on the verdict in the trial of a 42‑year‑old man accused of raping, head‑butting and threatening to kill his wife. The accused had previously pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife with a hammer in August 2014. He denies the rape, head‑butting and threats, claiming the marriage was breaking down over the previous five months.
