A Donegal man convicted of falsely imprisoning and assaulting his partner has avoided a return to custody despite the Court of Appeal finding his original sentence unduly lenient. Brian McLaughlin, 23, from Buncrana, had pleaded guilty to assaulting and falsely imprisoning his partner at their home on 20 October 2013.
