Summary
The Special Criminal Court formally dropped the case against Michael Barr, who was shot dead in Dublin on Monday night. Barr, 35, had been indicted for handling stolen electrical equipment at Finnstown House Hotel in Lucan on 18 July 2014 and had pleaded guilty earlier this month. He had also been charged with membership of an unlawful organisation, the IRA, on the same date, but that charge was dropped after his guilty plea. The court ordered the indictment to be marked "accused deceased.".
