Boy tells jury that father forced him to have sex with his mother
Summary
In a Waterford case, a 12‑year‑old boy gave evidence via video‑link that his father forced him to have sex with his mother and repeatedly sexually abused him with a hot poker, threatened him with a gun, and filmed the abuse. He said the abuse began when he was six and continued for about three and a half years, occurring roughly once a month. The boy also alleged that his father threatened to kill him if he told anyone, built a box in the shed to lock him in, and forced him to watch pornographic videos. The parents face 82 abuse charges from 2007 to 2011 and have pleaded not guilty to 16 counts each of sexual exploitation and one count of child cruelty. The trial continues with the boy's testimony before Mr Justice Robert Eagar and a jury.
