Jihadist who stabbed garda did not engage with psychologist, court hears
Summary
A self-described jihadist, Abdullah Khan, who previously inspired by Isis set fire to a pub owned by Conor McGregor and stabbed a garda in Dublin, has not cooperated with a psychologist assessing his risk. However, Khan has agreed to undergo a full assessment by a prison psychologist before sentencing. Khan pleaded guilty to eight charges, including arson, assault on a garda, and engaging in terrorist activity. The court heard that Khan was part of a wider group of like-minded radicals and that his actions were similar to terrorist attacks in Europe. Ms Justice Karen O'Connor ordered a probation report to assess Khan's radicalisation and the need for post-release supervision.
