A Ukrainian man, Andrii Pastukh, was jailed after €310,405 in crime cash was discovered hidden in baby food containers, Pringles tubs, suitcases, and a speaker in his Dublin hotel room. Pastukh pleaded guilty to possession of the proceeds of crime at the Clayton Hotel, Clonshaugh, on November 28, 2025. During a garda operation, he was observed handing over a bag to a co-accused, who later travelled to another hotel in Dublin city centre. When gardai searched Pastukh's hotel room, they found the hidden cash. A simultaneous search of another hotel room uncovered over €311,700 in a safe. Pastukh was arrested and handed over his phone and PIN, which led gardai to discover the Telegram app on his device. He initially made limited admissions but later gave a full account across six interviews. Pastukh claimed he came to Ireland from Athens three days earlier and had been instructed to hand over some of the money to the co-accused. The court heard that Pastukh had no previous convictions and that this was his first involvement in such offending.
