Former children's hospital janitor tried to throw heroin into Wheatfield Prison
Summary
Dylan Fogarty, a former janitor at Temple Street Hospital, was jailed for 18 months after attempting to throw €3,355 worth of heroin and €90 worth of cannabis into Wheatfield Prison. Fogarty and another man were spotted by gardai on February 26, 2023, attempting to throw items over the prison wall. Fogarty tried to evade arrest and discarded copper pipes containing the drugs. The second man escaped and has not been apprehended. Fogarty pleaded guilty to possession of drugs and obstruction of a garda.
