Murder accused wore stab-proof vest when he 'thrust' knife into deceased, court hears
Summary
A murder trial at the Central Criminal Court heard that a Dublin man, Joseph Lawlor, allegedly stabbed his friend, Michael Ryan, in the neck while wearing a stab-proof vest. The evidence showed that Ryan tried to fend off Lawlor with a black bag before the attack. The trial continues, with the court needing to determine whether Lawlor's actions were intentional. The judge, Mr Justice Patrick McGrath, is presiding over the case, and the jury will consider the evidence to reach a verdict. Joseph Lawlor pleaded not guilty.
