Summary
A 23-year-old man has been jailed for four years for the defilement of a 16-year-old girl whom he plied with alcohol. The Central Criminal Court heard that the defendant pleaded guilty to one count of defilement of a child under the age of 17 on February 16, 2025, in Co Westmeath. The injured party was extremely intoxicated and fell unconscious after consuming alcohol with the defendant and his friend. She was found in a highly intoxicated state near her home, with cuts to her hands, and an ambulance was called. The girl was also examined at a Sexual Assault Treatment Unit.
