Trainee Montessori teacher sexually assaulted and took pornographic pictures of four-year-old girl
Summary
In February 2016 a Dublin court sentenced a 32‑year‑old trainee Montessori teacher for sexual assault and child pornography. He had taken 46 images of a four‑year‑old girl, including her private parts and a photo of him with his finger in her mouth, and sent them to his email. Gardaí discovered 688 images on his hard drives and computers, including 586 of children in erotic poses, over 90 of penetrative and non‑penetrative interactions, and several depicting genital mutilation. The victim's parents testified that the child feared returning to the playschool and suffered lasting trauma. The defendant pleaded guilty to the assault, the production of child porn and possession of the images. He was remanded in custody pending sentencing in March 2016.
