Summary

In October 2025, Eric Norton, a 32‑year‑old drug dealer who advertised cocaine and tablets on Snapchat, was sentenced to five and a half years in prison. He pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing drugs for sale or supply and two counts of possession of drugs at addresses in Dublin in October 2020 and March 2021, and to one count of burglary at a Tesco store in Adamstown on 26 March 2023. Norton had 101 previous convictions. An undercover Garda rang him after seeing his Snapchat ad, and the Garda bought drugs from him on three occasions. In February 2021, Gardaí discovered a basement flat leased by Norton containing Diazepam tablets, cannabis, ketamine and documents linked to him. In March 2023, Norton and three men disguised as workmen entered a Tesco store during a fire test, accessed the store through an open shutter, and stole €89,000 worth of mobile phones, razors and cigarettes.
