Summary
In a Central Criminal Court hearing, a woman in her 50s was found guilty of facilitating the rape of her six‑year‑old daughter by the child's uncle and of sexually assaulting the child when she was four. The court also heard that the uncle, in his 40s, was convicted of raping the child after the mother had brought him into a bedroom where the child was lying on a bed watching television. The mother remained in the room during the rape, lifted her daughter from the bed, and returned her to her own bed in another room. She had denied 14 charges, including 13 of sexual assault and one of rape, but was convicted in July 2025 after an 18‑day trial.
