Jail for man who stole €4k worth of hair products
Summary
Michael Daly, 35, of Coolock, was sentenced by Swords District Court to four months in prison for stealing 98 boxes of hair products worth €4,272 from Irish Global Logistics on 28 November 2010. He pleaded guilty to the theft and to entering a building and possessing a black balaclava and gloves with intent to commit theft on 19 June 2013 at Unit D2 Metro Point Business Park. Garda Stephen Harte testified that he saw Daly moving boxes from a trailer into a red Transit van at the Corporate Park and that the items were recovered and resellable. Garda Eamonn Oakes reported that a call at 23:45 on 19 June alerted him to a male attempting to access Unit 2; the unit's shutters were damaged and a total of €998 of damage was caused. Daly was also convicted of criminal damage and sentenced to four months in prison, to run concurrently with the theft sentence.
