Raymond Fortune, 43, of Latchford Drive, Castaheany, Dublin 15, was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 2 April 2025 for possessing drugs worth over €1.4 million. He pleaded guilty on 4 July 2024 to two counts of possession of drugs for sale or supply. Garda surveillance, triggered by confidential information, led to his arrest when he was driving a white Transit van. Gardaí seized 7 kg of cannabis (valued at €140 000) and, after searching a storage unit at Rosemount Business Park, found 64 kg of cannabis (valued at over €1.2 million) and 623 g of ketamine (valued at €37 380). Adult diapers were used as a "cover load". During a home search, mixing agents were discovered. Fortune admitted addiction to cocaine and alcohol, claiming his addiction spiralled after his brother was charged with murdering their father in 2019.
