'Gillie' on bail over €250k cocaine and cannabis raid caught less than a year later with second drugs haul

Robert Cummins, 45, of Cushlawn Park, Tallaght, was jailed for ten years after pleading guilty to two drug offences. In August 2023 he was found with €196,540 worth of cannabis and €68,327 of cocaine for sale or supply at his home, and in July 2024 he was found with €55,695 of cocaine and €12,912 of cannabis for sale or supply while on bail for the first offence. Cummins admitted responsibility for the drugs, claiming they were hidden in a shed and that he had them for a few hours after work to reduce a gambling debt. He said he feared those to whom he owed money. His defence highlighted his family life and remorse. Judge Martin Nolan accepted pre‑meditation and imposed a seven‑year term for the first offence and a consecutive three‑year term for the second, totalling ten years in custody.
