Summary

In a Circuit Court hearing on 30 January 2025, Judge Elva Duffy sentenced Anthony Condron, 29, to three years' imprisonment, suspending the final six months, after he pleaded guilty to multiple counts of criminal damage and trespassing in an underground car park at Hampton Wood Drive, Finglas, on 29 September 2022. Condron, who has 76 prior convictions including 30 for criminal damage, admitted he had no idea how THC had entered his system, despite two of three urine samples testing positive. CCTV footage showed him entering the car park via the exit ramp, damaging windows, mirrors, stereos, windscreens, touch screens, wheel arches and five fire doors, causing €14,000 in damage and writing off one vehicle. He was cooperative and remorseful, and the judge noted his participation in educational courses while in custody. The court emphasised that the sentencing aimed to halt his pattern of behaviour.
