In the Central Criminal Court, James Connors, aged 29, pleaded not guilty to the murder of 27‑year‑old James Ryan, who was stabbed in Hollyville Heights on 25 January 2012. Connors was arrested after he told a friend to wipe the numbers and messages from his mobile phone. Mary Connors, a distant relative, testified that Connors had asked her to delete the phone's contents before she drove home and later retrieved the phone from under the passenger seat. She described a series of calls and visits in the days leading up to the murder, including an incident on John's Road where Connors was reportedly injured and refused medical help. Neighbour Danielle Kelly recounted seeing Connors with blood on his face on the night of 24 January, and that he had been seen climbing a window before police arrived. The trial is set to continue before Justice Margaret Heneghan.
