Summary

A jury at the Central Criminal Court has been discharged in the trial of a Dublin man accused of murdering Adil Essalhi in 2011. Michael Kinsella, aged 22 and with addresses at Swiftbrook Close in Tallaght and Ardkeen in Cavan, had pleaded not guilty to the charge of murdering Mr Essalhi at Tyrrelstown, Dublin on 6 January 2011. Justice Deirdre Murphy discharged the twelve-member jury after one juror became unable to continue proceedings due to illness. The judge stated the court was reluctant to proceed with an incomplete jury. Mr Essalhi's death was previously investigated resulting in the conviction of Wayne Kinsella, the accused man's uncle, in 2012 for the same killing.
