A 23‑year‑old Wexford man was jailed for two years and ten months after being found guilty of 14 counts of sexual assault on his younger cousin between 2013 and 2020. The victim, aged five to eleven at the time of the abuse, was forced by the defendant, aged thirteen to twenty, to touch his own penis and to touch the boy's penis. The abuse took place in the boy's home and a grandparent's house. The defendant has maintained his innocence. The victim confided in his mother in April 2020, leading to police involvement.
