Summary
The Central Criminal Court heard evidence in the ongoing murder trial of Anthony Locke (35), from Prussia Street, Dublin, who has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Christopher Jackson (53) on 7 September 2012. Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis testified that the deceased sustained over 70 stab wounds, including one penetrating the right lung, which was the cause of death. Dr Curtis noted that the wound patterns suggested more than one weapon was used and that the fatal chest injury would have killed the victim within minutes, though he may have remained mobile for several minutes. The body was discovered in a foetal position inside a wardrobe, concealed by plastic bags and bedding. Detective Garda Louise O'Loughlin stated that a hacksaw with a missing blade and other bloodstained items were removed from the wardrobe. The trial continues before Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan. Separately, Bernard Locke (41), from Ramillies Road, Ballyfermot, is awaiting sentence after pleading guilty last week to the murder of Mr Jackson. The validated procedural stage for Bernard Locke is sentence, while Anthony Locke's trial remains in progress.
