Staffing agency becomes first firm to be found in breach of Sick Leave Act
Summary
A staffing agency at Dublin Port, North Quay Associates Ltd, became the first company in Ireland found in breach of the Sick Leave Act 2022. The Workplace Relations Commission ordered the firm to pay €450 to worker Michael Broderick after he complained that he had not received the statutory 70% of wages for three days of sick leave in July 2023, subject to a €110‑a‑day cap.
