Paul Moore, aged 50, received a two‑year prison sentence for daylight sexual assaults on two women in Dublin city centre. He pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman on Gardiner Street on 21 January 2015 and another on St Mary's Place North on 8 May 2015. Judge Martin Nolan imposed an 18‑month term for the second offence, to run consecutively with six months for the first, back‑dated to when Moore entered custody in May, and suspended the final nine months. Moore had 11 prior convictions, including three rape offences, and had served prison terms for earlier sexual and indecent assaults. Garda Gavin O'Gara described how Moore approached the first victim, a woman in her early 20s, offering a cigarette and groping her breast while she spoke. The second victim, a late‑teen, was approached for a cigarette on the road to a pharmacy; Moore touched her nipple and again groped her breast.
