Mum of teen with specials needs brings action over school placement

Summary

The mother of a teenage boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a moderate intellectual disorder has filed a High Court judicial review to secure an appropriate school placement for her son. The boy, who has no sense of danger, has been aggressive and has tried to escape home, leading the HSE to place him in a residential setting because his parents could no longer manage his behaviour.
