Jail for man who failed to turn up for 2008 sentence hearing
Summary
Michael Cahill, aged 46, was jailed for two and a half years for drug dealing after failing to attend his sentence hearing in June 2008. He had pleaded guilty to possession of €23,200 worth of heroin for sale or supply at his home on Synge Place, Dublin, on 21 August 2006. Cahill's partner, the mother of his two children, died after he had pleaded guilty. He had not appeared for sentencing, leading to a bench warrant.
