Senior Anglo manager claims she was asked by accused to remove name from documents requested by Revenue - Anglo trial hears

Summary

The trial of former Anglo Irish Bank officials Tiarnan O'Mahoney, Bernard Daly, and Aoife Maguire continues at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. On day 16 of evidence, senior manager Zita Vance testified that she was asked by O'Mahoney to remove a name from documents requested by Revenue. Vance stated she was removed from the project team after refusing the instruction. She later told Anglo's fraud prevention officer that O'Mahoney was the individual who asked her to delete an account. Defence counsel for O'Mahoney noted that his client has no recollection of the conversations and denies making such requests. The court also heard from Monica Kearney, a former personal assistant to FitzPatrick, who identified an email sent to O'Mahoney in November 2003 detailing four account numbers. The matter is currently before Judge Patrick McCartan and a jury, with the trial ongoing.
