Christina Anderson murder trial to break until after Christmas
Summary
The trial of Christina Anderson, 41, accused of murdering Gareth Kelly, 39, will resume after Christmas. Anderson, a mother of three from Brownsbarn Wood, Kingswood, Dublin 22, is charged with stabbing Kelly five times as he tried to start his car outside her home on 25 February 2020. She pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. The court heard from consultant psychiatrist Dr Brenda Wright, who said Anderson suffered from bipolar affective disorder at the time of the stabbing and could not refrain from the killing. Dr Wright discussed Professor Harry Kennedy's report, which disagrees with her findings and suggests cannabis intoxication rather than psychosis.
