Summary

Adam, who had been on a fixed‑term contract since September 2019 and had taken six months' maternity leave after giving birth to twins in February 2020, claimed she would have received a contract of indefinite duration if she had been reappointed for the new academic year. The tribunal found that Adam was discriminated against on the grounds of gender and family status, noting that the interview questions were negative and that her experience and qualifications were not given the weight they deserved. The board denied her claims and did not offer her another position.
