Man with no priors caught with €4.5m in cocaine
Summary
Bradley Spencer, 28, of Corian, Pueblos Los Olieos, Malaga, was found with €4.5 million worth of cocaine in the boot of a Toyota Yaris that had been specially altered. The drugs, 67 kg in six black refuse bags, were seized on Leopardstown Road, Dublin, on 3 June 2022. An investigation led to the discovery of Spencer's passport and a vacuum packing machine in an apartment whose key was found on him. Spencer pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, admitting possession but denying DNA on the packaging. He had no prior convictions. Judge Dara Hayes set a headline sentence of 12 years, then imposed nine years with 18 months suspended on strict conditions. Spencer has been remanded since arrest and is described as a previously good character who has shown remorse and cooperation with the Garda investigation.
