Detective Garda Conor Harrison reported locating a dark van and the accused outside Carlyle's house around 11.25 pm, while the defence contested the exact time. The trial proceeded before Justice Kerida Naidoo and a 12‑person jury. Sean Carlyle pleaded not guilty. Philip Disney pleaded not guilty.
