Badly beaten dad-of-two had to be brought to hospital in garda car, murder trial hears
Summary
In the murder trial of Sean Carlyle (30) and Philip Disney (27), the jury heard that Vincent Parsons (34) was severely beaten, with bleeding from his ears and blood-soiled clothing, and was brought to Tallaght Hospital in a Garda car after no ambulance was available. Garda Sean Lawlor testified that he found Parsons unconscious on a green area near Killinarden Way, with significant facial bleeding and swelling. Garda Ross Thornton and Garda John Byrne described extensive head injuries and a slight pulse. Aoife Mannion confirmed Parsons was transferred to ICU and died on 26 August 2019. Detective Garda Conor Harrison reported locating a dark van and the accused outside Carlyle's house around 11.25 pm, while the defence contested the exact time. The trial proceeded before Justice Kerida Naidoo and a 12‑person jury. Sean Carlyle pleaded not guilty. Philip Disney pleaded not guilty.
