Dad-of-two beaten to death after becoming 'messy' at Stag do, State tells murder trial

Summary

A 34‑year‑old father of two was beaten to death after a drunken stag do at the Killinarden Inn in Tallaght. The prosecution, represented by Lorcan Staines SC, presented a case that Philip Disney (27) and Sean Carlyle (30) were involved in a joint enterprise to murder Vincent Parsons on 26 August 2019. According to the barrister, Parsons had been drinking for several hours, became "messy" and irritated patrons, and was confronted by Disney. Disney and Carlyle left the pub, entered a black van, and later returned to a green area where they allegedly beat Parsons to death. The prosecution claims evidence such as Parsons' watch found in Carlyle's van, blood on Carlyle's shorts, and CCTV footage of the accused's movements. Both accused men pleaded not guilty. The trial is ongoing before Mr Justice Kerida Naidoo and a jury of twelve.
