Woman remanded in custody after attack on young garda
Summary
Lisa Lee, 41, was remanded in custody pending sentencing after she attacked Garda Caoimhe Reilly on 9 January. The incident began when Gardaí responded to a domestic disturbance at Lee's Annalivia Apartments home at 3 a.m. Lee was found with a bleeding lip and blood on her nose. She entered the house with two Gardaí, where her partner and child were present. While the Garda tried to restrain the partner, Lee shouted, struck, and pulled clumps of the officer's hair. She then searched kitchen drawers, was suspected of having a knife, and returned unarmed but continued to punch and grab the Garda's hair. Garda Reilly was taken to St James Hospital, suffering soft‑tissue injuries to arms, legs, neck and back, and is still undergoing physiotherapy. Lee has three prior convictions for breach of bail and drug possession. She expressed remorse at 5 a.m. and said she was sorry to the Garda. Lisa Lee pleaded guilty.
