Summary

A 16‑year‑old, who was 14 when the offence occurred, was found guilty of murdering Uransetseg Tserendorj after a retrial at the Central Criminal Court. The jury, a panel of six men and five women, returned a 10‑to‑1 majority verdict after eight hours and 59 minutes of deliberation. The accused had previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter on 29 January 2021, but the State rejected that plea. Tserendorj, a Mongolian national, was stabbed in the neck as she walked home from work in Dublin's financial district on 20 January. The fatal wound severed her carotid artery, leading to catastrophic brain damage and her death on 29 January.
