Ex-lobbyist admits stealing €20k from business improvement groups

Summary

Sven Spollen Behrens, 54, a former lobbyist, pleaded guilty to stealing €10,250 from Dun Laoghaire Business Improvement District on 16 June 2017 and another €10,250 from Sandyford Business Improvement District in August 2017. The court, hearing at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, struck out the remaining counts and will consider sentencing on a full facts basis. Judge Patricia Ryan adjourned the sentencing to 16 January next year, when the evidence will be heard.
