Mark Doyle, 45, of Barnaville Park, Ballyfermot, was sentenced by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to six years' imprisonment for three counts of assault causing harm. The court heard that Doyle repeatedly attacked his former partner with a wrench, cable wire and other weapons, knocking out two of her remaining three teeth and causing severe facial injuries. He also threatened to pour boiling water and sugar over her face. The victim, who declined to give evidence, reported being struck with a cable wire, a pen, a brush and a wooden stick, and being left with blood‑stained wounds and broken teeth. Doyle denied the assaults and was on bail at the time of the incidents. The judge described the attacks as "pretty harrowing" and noted Doyle's habit of violent behaviour. The sentence was imposed on 27 July 2021 and runs consecutively.
