Summary

In a Dublin Circuit Criminal Court hearing, 46‑year‑old house cleaner Roza Komorova pleaded not guilty to stealing paintings worth over €28,000 from artist Louise Mansfield's home on Brennanstown Road, Cabinteely, on 5 September 2011. A video of Komorova's garda interview was shown to the jury, in which she claimed the paintings belonged to her and that she intended to hang them on her wall, but she refused to explain how she obtained them. Prosecutor Ms Elva Duffy read transcripts of two further garda interviews. In one, Komorova was shown CCTV footage of Mansfield's house and admitted that she had removed the paintings, placed them in her van and driven away. Police later found 21 signed paintings in the back of her vehicle. The trial, presided over by Judge Mary Ellen Ring, continues with a jury.
