Summary
Roza Komorova, a 46‑year‑old Dublin artist, pleaded not guilty at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to theft of paintings worth €28,595 from Louise Mansfield's home on Brennanstown Road, Cabinteely, on 5 September 2011. In court, Mr John Berry, the defence counsel, suggested that Mansfield's husband, Theo Hanley, had been having an affair with Komorova between 2003 and 2011 and that Hanley had paid money into a credit card account in Komorova's name and given her two cars. Mansfield denied any knowledge of such payments or gifts, describing the allegations as ludicrous. She said she had never seen the credit card statement and that her relationship with Komorova had been cash‑only. Mansfield claimed she had called Gardaí after her favourite painting disappeared in summer 2011, and that a detective had observed Komorova arriving in a white van and later carrying items to the van. The trial is ongoing before Judge Mary Ellen Ring.
