Balbriggan District Court round-up
Summary
Balbriggan District Court heard three matters before Judge Dermot Dempsey. Jonathan Fitzpatrick, 26, of Balbriggan, pleaded guilty to using threatening and abusive behaviour on Drogheda Street in October last year. He was convicted and fined €200. The judge warned Fitzpatrick that he is sailing close to a custodial sentence and that further convictions would result in custody. Fitzpatrick claimed he could not remember the incident due to intoxication, though the judge noted no apology was recorded in garda files. Alan Boardman, 31, of Lusk, is alleged to have been in possession of cannabis for sale or supply, valued at over €13,000, and to have unlawfully possessed cannabis and PVP in Lusk last August. The Director of Public Prosecutions has directed trial on indictment. The matter was adjourned until April 9th for the service of the Book of Evidence, with Boardman remanded on continuing bail. Nicholas Hampson, 43, of Liverpool, is alleged to have assaulted Edward Connolly causing harm on New Year's Day in Lusk. The State is awaiting medical records to determine DDP directions. The matter was adjourned until April 9th, with Hampson remanded on continuing bail.
