Padraic Casserly, executive chef at Tribal Restaurant Ltd (Tribeton bar and restaurant) in Galway, was dismissed after the company applied for planning permission to convert the restaurant into office space. The Workplace Relations Commission found the dismissal unfair and awarded him €21,461.97 in compensation, including 20 weeks' pay, unpaid notice, and non‑payment for public holidays.
