Jury continue deliberating in gang rape trial
Summary
The jury in the Central Criminal Court trial of four men accused of raping and sexually assaulting a 17‑year‑old girl will continue deliberations tomorrow. The alleged offence occurred on 27 December 2016 when the girl, separated from friends after a night‑out in a midlands town, entered a car with five men. The car travelled along backroads to a remote location where the defendants allegedly sexually assaulted her. Three of the defendants, and a fifth man not on trial, allegedly raped her at the remote site, one after another. The car was then driven to another location where the girl was dropped off at a house and later the car was driven again. The girl said she asked to be let out of the car but was ignored; one man raped her a second time while a fourth man forced his penis into her mouth.
