Summary
During the 13th day of Michael Lynn's trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, former Irish Nationwide auditor Killian McMahon testified that he had no knowledge of any alleged secret deal between the accused and former bank boss Michael Fingleton. McMahon, who worked as an internal auditor for the society between 2003 and 2006, denied awareness of any files or secret profit arrangements involving Fingleton and high‑net‑worth individuals. He stated that he had no reason to believe such files existed and that there were no secret loan deals. McMahon also said that any meeting between Fingleton and Lynn over coffee was unlikely to have been documented. The defence counsel, Feargal Kavanagh, used the testimony to argue that Irish Nationwide's lending practices were reckless and that the bank had been misled by false information supplied by Lynn. The judge, Martin Nolan, cautioned the counsel against making unsubstantiated comments. Michael Lynn pleaded not guilty.
