Man goes on trial accused of murdering wife of 23 years
Summary
A 54‑year‑old man, Alan Ward, will go on trial tomorrow for the murder of his wife, Catherine Ward, 41, who was killed on 1 March 2019 at their home on Greenfort Drive, Clondalkin. Ward is charged with the murder and two further offences: threatening to kill or seriously harm their son Adam Ward and attempting to stab Adam on the same day. He pleaded not guilty to all three counts. The case will be heard by Mr Justice Tony Hunt in the Central Criminal Court and is expected to last two weeks.
