Summary
During the murder trial of Lorcan Merriman, the jury was informed that Gardaí conducted a warrant‑driven search of Merriman's home on 4 May 2016. Detective Garda Sharon Duncan, who participated in the search, located a JD Sports bag in a small wardrobe in a corner of a box bedroom at the front of the house. Inside the bag she found an empty box for a white Nokia mobile phone. She also discovered two black, woollen gloves in a green area at the rear of the house. All seized items were handed to the exhibits officer, Garda Paul Dolan, who transported them to Clondalkin Garda Station. Additionally, Garda Eamon O'Brien examined mobile phones received by Gardaí as part of the investigation into Thomas Farnan's death. Lorcan Merriman pleaded not guilty.
