Drunk man broke into dealership, stole car
Summary
David Morgan, aged 30, pleaded guilty in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to burglary, unlawful vehicle taking and property damage at LPD Cars & Commercials, Greenhills Road, Tallaght, on 3 September 2018. He also pleaded guilty to refusing a sample at Tallaght Garda Station and driving without insurance on Homelawn Avenue, both on the same date. Judge Melanie Greally sentenced him to two years in prison, suspended in full, after noting his admissions, remorse, apology and payment of €1,700 compensation to the dealership. He was intoxicated during the offences and had been observed driving at high speed, crashing into parked cars, and resisting arrest.
