'Direct chain of causation' from leg injury to death, pathologist tells trial

Summary

During a manslaughter trial, the court heard that a direct chain of causation links a leg injury to a fatal blood clot. Ronan Byrne, 31, is accused of fracturing James Marren's leg with a bat on 26 October 2013. Marren, 57, was later found dead on 31 October 2013.
