Gardaí used CCTV to trace his movements, showing him entering a building site, taking a hard hat and high‑visibility jacket, and later driving the hijacked Toyota Corolla over Grattan Bridge into the south city area. He was arrested after crashing the vehicle into two stationary cars on Walkinstown Avenue.
