Summary
The trial of an unnamed woman accused of murdering a two‑year‑old child in the south of Ireland has been postponed for a second time. Originally scheduled for February 2021, the case was delayed to September 2021 because of Covid restrictions. Mr Justice Michael White now believes there will not be enough judges to hold the trial in September and has set a new date of 25 April 2022, with the trial expected to last up to four weeks. In February, the court ordered the accused to be anonymised following a defence application.
