Munster abuse trial adjourned as new sound system fitted at Croke Park

Trial
Summary
The trial of six Munster family members accused of abusing three children between 2014 and 2016 was adjourned to install a new sound system in the Croke Park courtroom. Judge Paul McDermott explained that sound problems had made it difficult for court participants to hear proceedings, and the adjournment would not affect the trial's length. The jury, consisting of eight men and seven women, was told the trial should finish around the end of July. The accused, aged 27 to 56, include parents, aunts and uncles, all of whom deny the charges. A seventh person, the children's 57‑year‑old grandmother, had her charges withdrawn earlier in the week. The trial will resume tomorrow. The unnamed 57-year-old pleaded not guilty.
