Distressed construction worker found by passersby, murder trial hears
Summary
A 40‑year‑old man, Feri Anghel, is on trial at the Central Criminal Court for the murder of Romanian construction worker Ioan Artene Bob, who was found in physical distress in Sean Walsh Park, Tallaght, on 13 April 2018. Anghel pleaded not guilty. The prosecution, led by Paul Greene SC, will present evidence that the Gardaí first became aware of the incident in the early hours of 13 April, that Bob was seriously assaulted and suffered extensive blunt‑force trauma, including fractured ribs and internal lacerations, and that he died later that day in hospital. Witnesses will testify to the movements of both men on 12 and 13 April, their interactions on public transport, and Anghel's contact with Gardaí and use of Bob's bank card. The trial, presided over by Ms Justice Eileen Creedon, is expected to last five weeks.
