The judge noted that new regulations were being drafted to allow the family to board flights from Ukraine via Frankfurt to Dublin on Saturday morning and to avoid the compulsory quarantine that had been imposed after Ukraine was added to the list of countries requiring it. The couple had argued that the State's failure to secure pre‑booking for quarantine rooms breached their constitutional and European Convention rights, and had sought an order quashing Ukraine's banned status and a declaration that their rights had been infringed.
